Artist Biography:
Colleen Belanger
I grew up in Irasburg, VT., and credit a lot of my interest in the arts to my experiences in school. My teacher at Lake Region Union High School introduced many forms of art. I especially liked inking, pastels, charcoals and acrylics. I learned the "home arts": crafting, quilting, knitting and crocheting from my mom and aunt. During the 70's I was busy raising a family. In the 90's I began a new career in Human Services and in 2003 I received my Associates Degree in Psychology. I’ve had an active and enjoyable life.
Some time ago I read an article about an artist who painted sap buckets and I was soon drawing and painting again! Whether painting fall scenes, Covered Bridges or my favorite hummingbirds, I knew I wanted to continue producing some form of art.
With the encouragement of a friend, and the support of my husband of 39 years, I began designing jewelry. It has become my passion to work with semi-precious or precious gems and stones, gold and silver to make the many designs of bracelets, necklaces and earrings. I concentrate on making high end quality jewelry at low cost. My business is now known as "CJ's ARTISTIC EXPRESSIONS" and my jewelry can be purchased at many craft shows throughout the Northeast Kingdom or email me through this website.
