Chris Nicotera
Musician
Artist Biography:
I have been playing the guitar for 40 years and the Celtic harp for almost two decades. After teaching music in public elementary schools, for close to 30 years, I retired to teach guitar and Celtic harp in my own studio and the surrounding area. Music has been my focus for many years and I hold an Associates’ degree in Jazz performance, a Bachelor’s in Music Education and a Master’s degree in Music Education. After taking the Hospice volunteer training course I have played my harp for many people near the end of their lives: in their homes and in hospital and nursing home settings. In addition to my teaching and volunteer work, I am an active performer. My wife, Heather Webster, is my musical duo partner and together we offer harp, guitar, classical flute and Native American flute music. We play a variety of music but our specialty is Celtic and Classical. We perform in restaurants, churches, weddings, anniversaries and private parties and fundraisers. Contact me for our “Wildwood Strings” CD. A second CD is in progress. I am a member of the Kingdom Dixie Band based in the Newport area. Since Dixie bands don’t usually have a harp, I play guitar in that ensemble! Contact me for classes: Derby Line on Tuesday and Thursday. Morgan on Wednesday.
