Leona White
Painter
Artist Biography:
Along the way to becoming an artist, she was a baker, a parent and grandparent. She lives with her husband in Irasburg, Vermont. Leona began painting at age 53, teaching herself and then taking a few classes from CCV. She first showed her paintings at the Flying Goose gallery and has shown her work several times with the Wooden Horse Arts Guild. In 2007, Leona traveled to Rome with the Nurse’s Association. It was a dream come true, to be able to see Rome, the place of some of the finest art in the world. "Leona’s techniques have changed and grown with this view of a miraculous place. Now, along with her paintings of Vermont and the places she knows best, the wonderful scenes of Rome are now on her palette." - Camilla Mead, an admirer of Leona’s work. Leona’s paintings can be see at the MAC Center for the Arts on Main Street in Newport, Vt. To order or for more information, contact the artist:
