Pam Turner
Artist Biography:
Albany, Vermont is now my home, having previously lived in Jeffersonville. While there I majored in Art at Johnson State College, decided to join the Army and was given a specialist four rank. While in the Army I was stationed at Alexandria, Va. at the Recruiting Support Center. Here I learned to mount and retouch photos and to silkscreen. The displays I did were similar in size to many museum exhibits and were Army promotion displays. Six years later I returned home to Vermont.

My love of the outdoors and animals has led me to create art depicting animals and landscapes. The eyes of my animal subjects are their most important feature to capture along with facial expression. The majority of my work has been done in a mixture of colored pencil and acrylic. I would like to use pastels as a medium in the future because of the softness it creates in a picture.

I am a member of the Brian Memorial Gallery and the Northern Vermont Artist Association, and have shown my work at the Brian Memorial Gallery, Sterling College, Copley Hospital, Old Red Mill in Jericho and at One Main in Burlington.
